How we handle your data
Questions about your data and requests to see or delete it: support@thehype.news.
What we keep and why
- Your email: to sign you in and to send sign-in and deletion links.
- Google or GitHub account id and email, if you connect them: to sign you in.
- API keys as hashes, their names, creation and last-use time: to check calls and show them to you. We cannot recover a key.
- Apps you connect (for example Claude or ChatGPT): the app name and address, which topic it reads, when it was connected and last used, and its access tokens as hashes. Until you disconnect the app or for 90 days at most.
- Tool calls per day: to apply the daily limit. Kept 35 days.
- Sign-in sessions: 30 days. Sign-in links: 30 minutes.
- When and to which mailbox we sent an email: to limit emails. Kept 35 days.
The account does not store IP addresses. They are used in memory to limit request rates and are sent to hCaptcha with the captcha check.
Who else processes data
Mailgun sends our emails. hCaptcha checks the sign-in form. Google or GitHub, only if you choose to sign in with them. Cloudflare carries all traffic to this site. Apps you connect receive the answers of the tools they call.
Newsletter
The thehype newsletter is a separate service with its own records, including the consent you gave in the subscription form. Unsubscribe with the link in any issue.
Deleting your account
Use Delete account in your account and confirm by email. Keys, app connections, sign-in methods and sessions are deleted at once. Your email and today's call count are kept until 00:00 UTC so that deleting the account does not reset the daily limit, then deleted. Deployment backups are removed within 7 days.
